[en] The factors examined in this paper are relevant to an understanding of radiation-chemical processes, whose applications range from the conversion of the energy of ionizing radiation (nuclear fission and fusion) and its biological effects. Radiation-chemical processes are also of experimental and theoretical importance in evolving new technologies. This paper reviews the chemical reactions involved in the radiolysis of water and carbon dioxide and the effects of temperature on these chemical reactions. 22 refs., 4 figs., 1 tab
