[en] Two more CANDU 6 reactors (Wolsong 3 and 4) are to be built at Wolsong for the Korea Electric Power Company. Construction is already underway on the second CANDU 6 reactor (Wolsong 2) at Wolsong. Wolsong-1 has proved reliable and efficient and replication of the design will allow cost reductions. There is now a partnership between Korea and Canada over nuclear power with full localization of the construction being the aim. The design of the CANDU reactor is outlined. Fuel handling and radioactive waste management are considered briefly. (UK)
