[en] Stimulated Brillouin sidescattering in line-focus-geometry laser-produced plasmas was investigated with a 532 nm wavelength pump laser at intensities up to 3 x 1013 W/cm2. While sidescattered light was observed, it was less intense than the specularly scattered pump laser light, and less intense than the backscattered Brillouin light. It was not enhanced when using foil targets which became underdense during the pump pulse, nor was it affected by changes in the pump laser polarization
