[en] The reaction between BaI2 and KNb (OiPr)6 in refluxing toluene yields after crystallization in the presence of isopropanol to a species which has been characterized by the usual techniques (elemental analysis, IR, 1H and 13C NMR) and X-ray diffraction as an heterometallic solvate BaNb2 (OiPr)12 (iPrOH)2.
