AbstractAbstract
[en] We have performed a search for the rare kaon decay KL → μe at Brookhaven. Finding no events, we set a limit of B(KL → μe)<8.4x10-11 (90% confidence level) with a 5% systematic uncertainty. This is a significant improvement over previous results. In addition, we measured the branching ratio of KL → μμ; after finding 284 of these events, we calculate a branching ratio of B(KL → μμ)=(7.6±0.5±0.4)x10-9
