[en] Bimetallic complex [Hf(CH3CN)6Cl2](FeCl4)2 (1) was synthesized, its properties were investigated by the methods of X-ray phase analysis, differential thermal analysis, IR and Moessbauer spectroscopy. Conclusions are made on the structure of the complex. The assumption on profound similarity between properties of (1) and [Zr(CH3CN)6Cl2](FeCl4)2 is confirmed
