AbstractAbstract
[en] Because Li-6 (or Li-7) is enriched near the near (or front) boundary of the Li adsorption band (Li-band) in the ion exchange column, the boundary must be detected precisely so that the enriched isotope is not discarded inadvertently. Since the boundaries are not visible, it is necessary to detect the Li-band by non-visual means. We have tried to detect the boundaries by pH values using flow-through type pH meter inserted the effluent end of each column. The front boundary of the Li-band can be detected, while the rear boundary cannot. Once the front boundary of the Li-band is detected, the stability of the shape of the Li-band allows us to estimate the position of the rear boundary with reasonable accuracy. (author)
