[en] Chinese government has made a decision to develop nuclear district heating. The Jilin Demonstration Nuclear Heating Plant is the first commercial nuclear heating plant in China. It is a integrated pressurized water reactor with low pressure, low temperature and low power density. There are double pressure vessels. The primary loop of the reactor is working on the principle of natural circulation. A new type of driving facility for control rod - hydraulic driving facility is used in the reactor. The residual heat removing system is working on the principle natural circulation too. There is a separate loop between primary loop and heat grid. All these features make the reactor very safe and simple. A series of experiments concerning reactor safety had been done for the Demonstration Nuclear Heating Plant. Some results are given in the paper. (author)
