AbstractAbstract
[en] The presented qualitative analysis of the use of heavy water as coolant and moderator in nuclear reactors gives wide physical and constructive possibilities for increasing the level of safety and reliability of NPP due to utilization of natural uranium as nuclear fuel and the channel-vessel design. It is necessary to continue the analysis of the features of the channel-vessel design of power reactors from the point of view of provision of the modern principle 'protection in depth'. (author)
