AbstractAbstract
[en] Intensive attention has been paid in the recent several years to the minor actinide (MA) burning capability in power fast reactors. This study has focused on the evaluation of the minor actinide transmutation capability to incinerate very long lived transuranic elements with heterogeneous MA-recycling in internal blanket fuels in a 1000 MWe-class fast breeder U-type Asymmetric Parfait Core (APC), as well as the principal core characteristic variations due to MA loading. The results indicated that large FBR cores have large MA-burning capabilities and flexibility for interchanging the conventional fuel core to MA loading cores along with adapting MA-recycling fuel cycle developments.
