AbstractAbstract
[en] Korba, a tribal village in the Madhya Pradesh in the early fifties, has grown into an industrial township with a number of industries being established in and around Korba. The major industries causing environmental degradation of Korba area are thermal power plants, coal mines, an aluminium plant, and a factory manufacturing chemical explosives. Out of these, environmental effects produced by coal mines and thermal power plants are described in detail. Specific measures are suggested to mitigate the adverse environmental effects and to prevent further environmental degradation. (M.G.B)
