[en] We give detailed calculations showing the existence of string solutions in the Weinberg-Salam model. We argue that there exists a range of parameters for which the solutions are stable under small perturbations. Some properties of the solutions - such as vortex superconductivity and Aharano-Bohm interactions - are briefly discussed. We also point out some consequences of these solutions. (orig.)
