[en] The mechanism of radiation-induced copolymerization of acrylamide(AM) with sodium acrylate(AANa) in aqueous solution was studied. A method to protect the copolymerization system from crosslinking and a carbon-carbon mechanism for gel formation in copolymerization reactions has been proposed. The conditions necessary to prepare the products with different molecular weights, especially very high molecular weight, were found. (author)
