AbstractAbstract
[en] Since work on the construction of units 3 and 4 of the Temelin nuclear power plant has been stopped, it is necessary to start considering the siting of a next nuclear power plant which could supply electricity to the grid after 2000. A multi-criterion decision model was used, for which 26 evaluating criteria were formulated taking into account economic issues, nuclear safety requirements, implementability, possibility of supplying heat, environmental impacts, socio-economic phenomena, and impacts of the power plant siting on the territorial system. Temelin is best suited if the next nuclear power plant is to be started up in 2000, whereas Tetov is better suited if 2005 is the start-up year. (M.D.)
