AbstractAbstract
[en] The merger of the private electric utilities was decided in 1990. The new entity called ELECTRABEL includes EBES, UNERG and INTERCOM. The nuclear power plants managed by ELECTRABEL are located at the Doel site (4 units, 2.700 MW) and the Tihange site (3 units, 2.800 MW), or a total of 7 units and 5,500 MW. Wastes produced by nuclear power plants fall into three categories: - low and medium level waste; - waste containing long-lived isotopes; - fission products resulting from reprocessing of spent fuel. We will only deal with the first category: low and medium level solid and liquid wastes. (author). 6 figs
