AbstractAbstract
[en] Research works on nuclear fusion by reversed field pinch (RFP) type plasmas in the Electrotechnical Laboratory (ETL) are introduced as one of the research and developments aiming to provide possible future energy resources, RFP has potential to be one of the magnetically confined controlled thermonuclear fusion devices. RFP can be more economical or efficient in a wide sense than tokamak type reactors. In this paper, possible merits of the RFP type reactor are introduced and the experimental works in ETL are reviewed emphasizing key parameters and specialities of RFP for future large devices.
