AbstractAbstract
[en] The potential impact of underground piping corrosion on power plant operations is addressed. Typical underground piping materials, applications, and associated corrosion mechanisms are reviewed. Available methods to mitigate the effects of corrosion on underground piping are discussed as well as potential problem areas associated with these methods. Finally, repair and replacement options such as an above-ground or enclosed installation are discussed relative to maintaining plant availability and avoiding future failures of significant consequence
