[en] In order to attain an optimum sterilization treatment for obstetric dressings, with 60Co γ-ray, the effects of radiation on standard bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium and short Bacillus were studied. Results showed that at the absorbed dose of 10 kGy, all the bacteria were killed off. The dressings complied with hygiene regulations which was confirmed by microbiological and toxicity tests.
