AbstractAbstract
[en] Ultrafast CT using the scanning electron beam method (Electron Beam Tomography, or EBT) continues to advance with both hardware improvements and significant new clinical applications. A new, more compact scanner model, the C150, offers advanced scanner modes including Continuous Volume Scanning (CVS) and thin-slice imaging that may be ECG-triggered. CVS scanning offers a capability comparable to Spiral/Helical CT but is several times faster. ECG-triggered, thin-slice imaging is used for CT-angiographic studies of the chest. Major new EBT clinical applications include screening studies for coronary artery disease and detection of pulmonary embolism. (author)
