[en] We devised a method of multiple fractions twice per day by combining accelerated hyperfractionation and concomitant boost as a new therapeutic method for esophageal cancer, performed this method on 60 inoperable patients and studied its usefulness by means of multivariate analysis. The results indicated that this method is useful for radiotherapy of esophageal cancer since it tended to significantly prolong life, showed excellent local control and improved patients QOL when 63 Gy/40 f/5 weeks was selected.
