AbstractAbstract
[en] The various data showing the state of operation of nuclear power stations in various countries in the first half of 1993 were published recently. The number of the countries where nuclear power stations are in operation at present is 30. In terms of the quantity of nuclear power generation, the order is USA, France, Japan, Germany and Russia. The total number of nuclear power plants in 22 countries is 364, and their installed capacity is 343 million kW. The total generated nuclear power in one year amounts to 2.3 trillion kWh, 20% of the total generated electric power. In the first half of 1993, the increase by 4.4% as compared with the same period in the last year resulted. The average capacity ratio was 72.2%, which is the excellent result. In USA, the start of operation of new plant and the order of new plant were none. In Japan, 43 nuclear power plants with output of 4.57 million kW are in operation. Thereafter, two more new plants started the operation. In Japan, when the capacity ratio of nuclear power plants increases by 1%, the fossil fuel can be saved by 11 billion yen. Also the state of operation of nuclear power plants in France, former West Germany, UK, Canada, Sweden and others is reported. (K.I.)
