AbstractAbstract
[en] We evaluated chest high resolution CT findings in 14 patients with chronic eosinophilic pneumonia (CEP) and 13 with acute eosinophilic pneumonia (AEP). Chest CT findings of CEP were multiple, dense and peripheral consolidations which often show contraction tendencies or migrations. In CEP, the clinical course was persistent and relapses were often seen despite of quick improvement by steroid therapy. Chest CT findings of AEP were diffuse ground-glass and micro-nodular shadows which may be sparse or localized in mild cases. In AEP, the clinical course was short and spontaneous improvement without relapse was usually seen. In both of CEP and AEP patients, thickening of bronchial walls, thickening of interlobular septa, pleural effusions and swelling of hilar of mediastinal lymph nodes were frequently observed. (author)
