AbstractAbstract
[en] Three-radiopharmaceuticals (99mTc-MIBI, 123I-MIBG and 123I-pPPA) and SPET technique were used to examine the association of anginal pain and myocardial viability in patients with recent myocardial infarction. The study group consists of 12 men, aged less than 65 years, who had survived from their first myocardial infarction. Before hospital discharge the patients were subjected to symptom limited exercise test. Three months later they were restudied at rest using these 3 radiopharmaceuticals and SPET scans. The results show that the extent of viable but denervated myocardium [(MIBG-defect)-(pPPA-defect)] seems to be related to the occurrence of anginal pain in this small patient population. Methodological aspects of the 3-isotope SPET scans were specially evaluated. (author)
