AbstractAbstract
[en] The 23rd of March, 1989 and the 3rd of May 1993 are two important dates, the first marking Fleischmann and Pon's initial achievement of cold fusion in the laboratory, the second, its confirmation by these pioneer researchers and other researchers in internationally recognized laboratories. The time of unbelief and uncertainty as to the actual existence of cold fusion is already over and a follow-up phase is beginning in which researchers strive to develop new theories to explain the phenomena and evaluate their scientific and practical implications. The monitoring and analysis of the time dependent metallurgical state of the alloys absorbing deuterium, the definition of the entity and nature of the emitted radiation and the clear understanding of the relative safety aspects represent crucial problems for the moment. Until such time as progress is made in these areas, it won't impossible to assess, with any reasonable accuracy, future development times
