AbstractAbstract
[en] In this chapter the authors present a brief overview of the various environments likely to have a degrading effect on electronic devices and systems: space, nuclear reactors, processing, weapons, and controlled fusion. They also provide a description of the terrestrial environment, partly because of public concern regarding such events as the Chernobyl nuclear accident, and partly to place in context the various levels of radiation exposure which may be experienced by humans and equipment in these widely differing environments
