[en] This report describes a theoretical concept that establishes a complete link between the form factor characterization and the fractal description of irregularily shaped particles. Of central importance is the approximate consideration of hydrodynamic interactions between the primary particles within the framework of the Kirkwood-Riseman theory, resulting in a clear distinction between the geometric and the hydrodynamic radius of the agglomerates. Furthermore, special attention is given to the description of the density decay in the outer regions of the particles. Using connectivity arguments it is shown that the case of particles with very low fractal dimension (e.g. chainlike species) requires a specific treatment. (orig./HP)

Es wird ein theoretisches Konzept beschrieben, das eine vollstaendige Verbindung zwischen dem Formfaktorkonzept und der fraktalen Beschreibung irregulaer geformter Partikel herstellt. Von zentraler Bedeutung ist dabei die naeherungsweise Beruecksichtigung hydrodynamischer Wechselwirkungen der Primaerpartikel im Rahmen der Kirkwood-Riseman-Theorie und die damit verbundene Unterscheidung zwischen geometrischem und hydrodynamischem Radius der Agglomerate. Weiterhin wird auf eine differenzierte Behandlung des Dichteabfalls im Randbereich der Partikel Wert gelegt. Anhand von Konnektivitaetsbetrachtungen wird gezeigt, dass Partikel mit sehr niedriger fraktaler Dimension (z.B. kettenfoermige Spezies) gesondert betrachtet werden muessen. (orig./HP)Source
