AbstractAbstract
[en] Photoemission is a well established technique for the study of the electronic structure of atoms and solids. In particular, angle-resolved photoemission has been used extensively to map the band structure of clean and adsorbate covered surfaces, both metal and semiconductor. Extending the technique by measuring the spin of the photoemitted electrons allows the possibility of examining the exchange split band structures characterizing ferromagnetic systems. Here the technique becomes particularly useful in the study of the magnetic properties of surfaces, thin films and associated interfaces
