[en] This appendix presents a description and evaluation of currently available spent nuclear fuel storage technologies, and their applicability to foreign research reactor spent nuclear fuel. These technologies represent the range of alternatives dW would be available to implement the proposed action. Some of these technologies are currently in use at US Department of Energy (DOE) facilities. Several dry storage cask and/or building designs have been licensed by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and are operational with commercial nuclear power plant spent fuel at several locations. This appendix also discusses potential storage sites and impacts of foreign research reactor spent nuclear fuel storage at these locations
