AbstractAbstract
[en] The quantum size effect of excitons in semiconductor microcrystals is reviewed. Based on the effective mass approximation, the change of quantum state of excitons in microcrystals due to the variation of the crystal size is systematically analyzed. The shape dependence of the motional state is discussed. The resonant interaction of photons with a random array of quantum dots is also discussed. (author)
