[en] A joint company Posiva founded by nuclear energy producing Teollisuuden Voima Oy (TVO) and Imatran Voima Oy (IVO) coordinates the research work of the companies on nuclear waste management in Finland. In Posiva's Nuclear Waste Management Programme 1998, an account of the nuclear waste management measures of TVO and IVO's is given as required by the sections 74 and 75 of the Nuclear Energy Degree. At first, nuclear waste management situation and the programme of activities are reported. The nuclear waste management research for the year 1997 and more generally for the years 1998-2002 is presented
