AbstractAbstract
[en] To study the feasibility of the elevation configuration of the KALIMER IHTS components, two models are adopted for reference cases and each model is evaluated with respect to performance and safety related review items. The major items for comparison consist of functionability, operability. Safety, manufacturability, maintenability, licensability, and economic aspects. The overall results conclude that model no. 1 has more merits in safety, maintenability, functionability, and licensability with some handicaps in sodium fire and economic aspects. Model no. 2, although it is an economical and sodium fire resistant concept with its innovative design feature, is reviewed as handicapped design concepts in the other aspects. The IHTS in liquid metal is a specific system and is deeply related to other systems. Further evaluations related to interface systems and other feasibility studies are needed to fix the KALIMER IHTS system design. (author). 14 refs., 5 tabs., 15 figs
