[en] In any case the benefits of different applications of X-ray instruments should be higher than their costs. The occupational hazard for workers exposed to X-radiation is one of the cost components. It is known that work under such conditions leads to an increased risk of the radiation induced cancer. According to relevant regulations this risk must be limited by radiation protection activities such as personal dosimetry in correlation with annual limit. The paper presents the results of measurements and calculations of the annual doses of workers who work with X-ray sources in Poland in 1996. The last year's data were compared with the ones for the previous period starting from 1966. (authors)
