[en] The purpose of this paper is to investigate the possible effects of environmental radon exposure on lung cancer incidence in a realistic human population, following a similar approach as that of Luebeck et al. As has been suggested by Stein and Stein, we made the assumption that it takes two independent (specific) mutations for a cell to become pre-malignant, and that subsequent malignant transformation will occur after one more mutational event.
