AbstractAbstract
[en] The broadening of spectral line shapes has long been used in the past as a non-interfering probe to obtain information on the plasma parameters of the emitter high density, highly radiative Tokamak experiments. Precise information can generally be obtained with the help of a complete modelling of the radiating particles and their environment. A general line shape code PPP developed by the Marseille group for modelling the Stark broadening of both neutral and charged emitters, has recently been modified to take into account the Zeeman effect due to the magnetic field present in Tokamak devices. Line broadening calculations for different emitters have been performed in the conditions of Tore-Supra edge plasmas during ergodic divertor operation, and Alcator C-Mod divertor plasmas. (authors)
