[en] The vast uncertainties connected to the effects the power system deregulation and restructuring will have on technology choice, fuel type, growth of transmission capacities, electricity prices and electricity consumption make analysis of the environmental impacts of restructuring complex. Future changes in the system will most probably go beyond current experience upon which existing models have been based. Therefore, in this paper possible environmental impacts of power system deregulation have been described. They have to be kept in mind when restructuring the system and introducing new environmental protection policies. (author)
