[en] Transmutation of long half-life isotopes is discussed, using bremsstrahlung of electron accelerators. The bremsstrahlung is generated by (γ,xn) reactions in the accelerators. Some measurement and calculation results are presented on the combustion of 90Sr and 137Cs. Among the long half-life radioactive fission products, 129I is examined as the objective of transmutation. The transmutation chain is presented. (R.P.)
