AbstractAbstract
[en] In the framework of the Upgrade Project for NPP Dodewaard a study of the ageing and qualification status of electrical and instrumentation components was performed. The ageing study was done according to IAEA technical report 338 and included selection of components, evaluation of existing information, grouping components with similar ageing mechanisms, determination of dominant ageing mechanisms per group. The study resulted in recommendations to improve data management and the effectiveness of inspections and maintenance. The qualification study included selection of components, evaluation of existing information, grouping components with identical specifications, evaluation of qualification status, further analysis. The qualification study demonstrated that many of the selected safety components without formal qualification could be considered qualified by operating experience, analysis or a combination of both. Replacement with formally qualified equipment was primarily necessary for components in a H1 (LOCA) environment. (author)
