AbstractAbstract
[en] The microstructure of the multicomponent boride layers produced by the boriding of the electrodes, chemically nickel protected 1045 steel was investigated by means of TEM. the intermediate chemically deposited precoating, despite of nickel, also contains about 8 wt% of phosphorus and thus exhibits dual phase (Ni,Fe)3P + Ni(Fe) microstructure. As a consequence, the boriding of such a substrate led to the formation of complex multicomponent and multiphase boride layers. The microstructures of two types of layers, produced at different temperatures (boriding at 650oC/2 h and 850oC/2h) are described. In both cases, despite of boride zones, the persistence of (Ni,Fe)3P phosphide phase is observed. The presence of this phase in the multicomponent boride layers microstructure is suggested to be a kay for the properties improvement interpretation. (author)
