AbstractAbstract
[en] Objective: To investigate the effect of bone morpho-genetic proteins-2m (rhBMP-2m)on hematopoietic type of acute radiation sickness in mice. Methods: rhBMP-2m was obtained from E. coli by molecular biological method. The effect of rhBMP-2m on hematopoiesis was detected postirradiation and the 30 -days survival rates were observed. Results: Mice of the irradiation control group died in 30 days. The survival rate of rhBMP-2m treated mice was higher than that of the GM-CSF treated ones ( P < 0.05). The effect of thBMP-2m on the survival of mice after 7.0 Gy irradiation was that 40% of mice survived after i. p. injection with 0.25 mg, but in GM -C SF group i. p. injection of 300 ng was needed. Conclusion: These data support the hypothesis that rhBMP-2m can be used to treat the hematopoietic type of acute radiation sickness
