[en] The present law defines the legal, organisational and economic framework governing the licensing of activities in the field of nuclear energy, as well as basic provisions for the regulation of public relations arising while carrying out such activities, by way of exception to the basic provisions set forth in the law on enterprise activity. The licensing regime governing the uses of nuclear energy aims to protect national security interests, to prevent individuals from over-exposure and to prevent the contamination of environment beyond established limits, and to observe the requirements of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons
