AbstractAbstract
[en] The Institute of Nuclear Energy Research (INER) in Taiwan is a government-owned, government-operated research institute located in Taoyuan county 50 km southwest of Taipei. INER is supervised by the Atomic Energy Council (AEC) of Taiwan, and it is the largest research institute in the field of radiation application in Taiwan. The major goal of INER is to develop and apply peaceful use of nuclear technologies in different area, and its environmental branch has set up radiation monitoring programs since the institute was founded in 1968. lNER had modified and established its environmental radiation systems and dose assessment models to satisfy environmental regulations acts of AEC in the future, and its environmental media radioanalytical laboratory is applying for the national accreditation to approve the quality of analytical results. This paper summarizes the update environmental radiation program and the results from this program for the past few years. It covers the measuring of accumulated doses from direct external radiation, determining radioactive activities in aerosol, water and biological samples, and estimate annual doses from different releases. The results show that annual doses received by critical group lived next to lNER from different releases was less than the AEC reference value of 1 mSv/y during this period. (author)
