AbstractAbstract
[en] An existing 11-groups library for SIMMER calculations was supplemented by additional elements and isotopes (44 in total) in order provide the capability to use SIMMER also for analyses of fission reactors dedicated to the transmutation of selected minor actinides and fission products. Furthermore, the package should also allow scoping analyses related to safety aspects of repositories containing irradiated fuel (for direct deposition) or radioactive nuclear waste. The files ISOTXS and BRKOXS were prepared by using modern evaluated nuclear data libraries like JEF2.2, ENDF/B-VI-5, and JENDL3.2. As processing code the well known NJOY97 package was used. The updated libraries provide a suitable basis for broadening significantly the range of applicability of SIMMER for new designs of power plants, e.g. also accelerator driven systems (ADSs) with special targets, hit by the proton beam, as well as non-convential coolants (Pb or Pb-Bi) or fuels (e.g. with nitride, where 15N replaces the more abundant 14N).
