AbstractAbstract
[en] Spent fuel from nuclear reactors has to be disposed of either as waste-glass or without such treatment. Due to toxic and radiation effect, the nuclear waste has to isolated from the biosphere more than 100.000 years. The nuclear waste should be placed in corrosion resistant canister, which will be deposited in repositories in deep geological formations. There the canister may be exposed with groundwater. Species formed by radiolysis may affect the corrosivity to the materials. The corrosion resistance of candidate materials for canister is evaluated by corrosion test, thermodynamics calculation and corrosion rate data obtained from the references. Based on the references data titanium, copper and high purity alumina were fixed to be used for the candidate of canister (author)
