AbstractAbstract
[en] Tetraethoxysilane was prepared using the direct synthetic procedure in presence of magnesium ethoxide, tin tetrachloride and tin oxide as catalysts. Magnesium ethoxide was prepared firstly, identified by spectral analysis and then used in the preparation of tetraethoxysilane. The method adopted is reliable and significant as far as synthetic routes are concerned. The product obtained was analysed using infra-red spectroscopy and gas-liquid chromatography, these indicated that the final reaction product can be obtained in high yield and purity. Spectral analysis obtained are in good agreement with reported data for tetraethoxysilane. (Author)
