AbstractAbstract
[en] The reaction conditions for complexation of Ho-166 with three phosphonic acid chelators - methylenediphosphonic acid (MDP), 1-hydroxyethylidenediphosphonic acid (HEDP) and ethylendiamine-N,N,N',N'-tetrakismethylenephosphonic acid (EDTMP) - were investigated. The influence of pH of reaction mixture, concentration of corresponding ligand on the radiochemical yield and the effect of reaction time were studied. Radiochemical yield of complexation was determined by thin-layer chromatography. Free holmium was separated from holmium complexes using silica gel plate (ITLC-SG) as stationary phase and MeOH : H2O : CH3COOH (49 : 49 : 2) as developing solution. The labelling yield reached more than 80 % for Ho-166 - MDP and Ho-166 - EDTMP and it is greater than 90 % for Ho-166 - HEDP under optimal conditions. This study demonstrates very successful complexation of Ho-166 with all of selected phosphonate chelates, especially Ho-166 - HEDP. Suitable nuclear properties and easy preparation of described complexes with high radiochemical yield make Ho-166 - labelled phosphonates excellent for potential use in radiopharmacy. (authors)
