AbstractAbstract
[en] On May 24, 2002, the Finnish Parliament voted for the application to build a fifth nuclear power reactor with a clear majority, 107-92. The application was submitted in November 2000 by the company TVO, operating two power reactors in Olkiluoto that started commercial operation in 1978 and 1980. A historical perspective to nuclear power in Finland is given and the reasons for the success of the current application are discussed. (author)
