AbstractAbstract
[en] The standard result for the force per unit length on a vortex is derived for an arbitrary configuration of vortices and transport currents in the London limit. The sign reversal between this force, and the Lorentz force on a current in a magnetic field, is shown to be because of the fact that the vortex and the currents driving it are embedded in a single condensate.
