AbstractAbstract
[en] Ammonium uranyl carbonate (AUC) is precipitated by using saturated ammonium carbonate solution as precipitating agent. The concentration of uranium in the filtrate is reduced to 40 ppm when the precipitation is carried out at low temperature. The decomposition of AUC precipitated at 5-10 degC is studied by TG/DTA and EGA-MS. The AUC and derived U3O8 are characterised by XRD studies. The thermal decomposition and XRD results are comparable with the reported values of AUCs (prepared at room temperature) and corresponding U3O8 products. (author)
