AbstractAbstract
[en] Low level radioactive liquid waste (LLW) generated at WIP and received at LWTP contains 137Cs as the major radioisotope and inactive dissolved solids in the form of sodium nitrate in large excess. To decontaminate this waste with respect to 137Cs, chemical treatment is carried out using chemicals such as copper sulphate, potassium ferrocyanide and ferric nitrate. The present work covers the effect of high concentration of dissolved solids on effective decontamination of waste with respect to 137Cs. (author)
