AbstractAbstract
[en] To determine detection capabilities of locating of steel bars inside concrete, commercially available Nondestructive Testing(NDT) equipments have been tested. The equipments include two radar systems and one eletromagnetic method system. The inclusions are 13, 16, 19, 25 and 55 mm diameter steel bar, φ30 mm PVC pipe, φ50 mm sheath, wood(2x10 cm), styrofoam(2x10 cm) and water container(15x30 cm) embedded at different cover depths from the surface of concrete specimens. And, the horizontal spacing of steel bars are varied ranging from 5 to 35 cm to determine the horizontal spacing of them. Experimental results on various measurement cases are discussed. From this study, it is proved that radar measurements is good to detection of locating and spacing of steel bars and electromagnetic method effective to detection of locating of them
